JAKARTA - Police are investigating the cause of a series of accidents involving six vehicles and resulting in four people being killed on Jalan Raya Desa Malasan Wetan, Probolinggo, East Java (Jatim), Saturday (18/4) evening.

He explained that the six vehicles involved in the consecutive accident were a Nissan trailer with the police number (Nopol) B-9625-UEJ, a Toyota Limo Sedan Nopol AG-1644-EG, a Daihatsu Granmax pickup truck Nopol P-8361-GL, a pickup truck Nopol N-8387-YH, a Toyota Hi-Ace minibus Nopol P-7022-QB and a Head Hino tractor truck Nopol T-9698-TA.
He explained, based on the testimony of witnesses, the original trailer vehicle Nissan Nopol B-9625-UEJ driven by Cecep was traveling from Lumajang to Probolinggo (south to north direction), when it arrived at the crime scene it was suspected of having a problem with the braking function so it hit the Toyota Limo Vios sedan Nopol AG-1644-EG driven by Sutrisno with three passengers.
Then hit the Daihatsu Granmax Nopol P-8361-GL pickup truck driven by Muhammad Iswanto, then hit the Nopol N-8387-YH pickup truck driven by Agus Heri Wibowo, the vehicle continued to drive until it hit the Minibus Toyota Hi-Ace Nopol P-7022-QB vehicle driven by Abdul Ghopar.
"The new trailer truck stopped after hitting the Head Hino Nopol T-9698-TA tractor truck driven by Joko Trimono and running in the same direction as it," he said.
As a result of the incident, the driver of the sedan named Sutrisno and his three passengers were seriously injured and died, while the driver of the Daihatsu pickup named Muhammad Iswanto was injured and was treated at the Wonolangan Hospital, Dringu District.
