Eliminating Slander, MPR Leader From The PKS Faction Asks BPK To Audit 2021 Hajj Funds

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the MPR Hidayat Nur Wahid asked the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to audit the 2021 hajj funds to eliminate slander due to the decision to cancel this year's hajj.

This is also a transparency of Hajj funds, although the Ministry of Religion and BPKH also ensure that the money for prospective pilgrims who cancel their departure is parked safely and will be invested in Islamic banks.

"The demand for audits of hajj funds is growing. Even though there are guarantees from the Minister of Religion and the Head of BPKH that the hajj funds are safe. To eliminate slander, and ensure the safety of hajj funds, it is better if the BPK transparently audits hajj funds immediately, with the support of BPKH and the Ministry of Religion," he said. In his upload, the member of Commission VIII of the DPR PKS Faction also attached an article regarding the audit of Himam Miladi's hajj funds which explained that the Hajj deposit contract was basically a service contract for someone to pay for services.

He explained that the recipient of the payment funds can also use the funds for anything, as long as he is able to guarantee that he can provide services as mandated.

"So basically, the use of hajj funds for other purposes is basically permissible, as long as the manager of the hajj funds can provide information on the use of the funds and ensure the safety of the funds," he wrote.

Therefore, the Jakarta legislator sees the importance of auditing Hajj funds in order to dispel suspicions against the government.

"Therefore, transparency in the management of hajj funds is absolutely necessary to stem negative perceptions while at the same time strengthening public trust in the government regarding the management of hajj funds," continued HNW.
