JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia operates the Extraordinary Train (KLB) journey starting tomorrow, May 12, until May 31.

VP Public Relations KAI Joni Martinus said, the operation of the KLB follows the Circular of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 Number 4 of 2020 concerning Criteria for Limiting People Travel in the Framework of Accelerating Handling of COVID-19.

Joni said, in this case, prospective passengers who buy tickets may not travel using KLB with the aim of going home ahead of Eid Al-Fitr.

"We operate the Extraordinary Train Journeys for people who are excluded according to government regulations by implementing strict COVID-19 prevention protocols," said Joni in a statement received by VOI, Monday, May 11.

Joni said that people who are allowed to use the outbreak are health, defense and security service workers, economic function services, emergency medical trips for seriously ill or dead patients, and the immediate family of accompanying patients.

Then, Indonesian citizens who return from abroad, such as students, migrant workers, food suppliers, and ship crews (ABK) are also allowed to use this transportation service.

In addition, government officials such as the State Civil Service, TNI, Polri, BUMN employees, business institutions, entrepreneurs, and non-governmental organizations are allowed to use KLB, as long as their activities are still related to handling COVID-19.

"KLB tickets are sold starting Monday, May 11, 2020 at the passenger departure station counters. Booking and ticket purchases can be made from D-7 departure, by the passenger concerned and cannot be represented," said Joni.

To be able to buy these tickets, prospective passengers are also required to complete the requirements according to the COVID-19 Task Force Circular. These requirements include showing a negative COVID-19 test result letter, a letter of assignment from the company, KTP or other valid identification, and notifying the itinerary to be carried out.

Every passenger who will use KLB is also required to wear a mask during the trip, and have a body temperature below 38 degrees Celsius.

If the requirements are complete, prospective passengers report to the posts available at the ticket sales station to submit files and file verification.

After that, prospective passengers will receive two copies of a permit from the COVID-19 task force at the station. The first sheet is given to the counter clerk when buying a ticket and the second sheet is shown to the officer at the time of boarding.

"Passengers who will depart but do not meet these requirements are prohibited from taking the train and tickets will be returned 100 percent," said Joni.
