COVID-19 Update As Of June 6th: There Are 5,832 New Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released data on the progress of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 64,223 specimens, 5,832 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 were found.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,856,038 people," quoted from Ministry of Health data, Sunday, June 6.

Meanwhile, the recovered cases increased by 4,187 people. Thus, the cumulative total recovered cases reached 1,705,971 people.

On the other hand, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 was recorded to have increased by 163 people. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 51,612 people.

Still referring to the data from the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of additional positive cases, DKI Jakarta. It was recorded that 1,019 people tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 is Central Java with 890 cases. Furthermore, West Java with 869 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19.

On the other hand, DKI Jakarta province also has the most recovered cases. Around 884 people have recovered from COVID-19.

In second place, Riau Province with 737 cases recovered. Then, Central Java with 400 cases and West Java with 354 cases.

So far, there are 5 provinces that have reported additional cases of less than 10, including West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo and North Maluku. Then, there was 1 province without positive cases, namely, Papua.

The number of specimens that have been examined reached 17,235,561. In detail, as many as 14,723,012 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 181,994 specimens using the molecular rapid test (TCM), and 2,330,555 specimens by antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 19.86 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 85,998 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
