President Prabowo Discusses Housing Development on the Railway Line

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto summoned the Minister of Housing and Spatial Planning Maruarar Sirait, the Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, and the President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia Bobby Rasidin to the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.

Maruarar or who is familiarly called Ara said this limited meeting will discuss, among others, the development of housing around or along the railway.

According to him, the construction of housing for residents on the railway embankment includes the areas of Tanah Abang, Bandung, to Medan.

"In many places. In Tanah Abang, state land is very strategic, in Bandung it is very strategic, in Medan it is very strategic. We use it for the benefit of the people and the state must be present," said Ara as reported by ANTARA, Monday, April 6.

Ara said that he had previously reviewed the housing location in Tanah Abang, Jakarta. In addition, this morning together with the President Director of KAI, he also saw the location for housing in Bandung.

According to him, there are many state lands that are currently controlled by irresponsible parties.

He emphasized that the state would take back the land. Therefore, synergy with various parties is needed to accelerate the provision of housing for low-income people.

"There is a lot of state land that is controlled by other parties and we will take it back for the benefit of the country and the people. Especially low-income people and also middle and middle-income people. So that we can quickly synergize," said Ara.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Education and Technology Brian added that his party was ready to support the development of housing along the railway with various studies and research from the technology side to be more efficient.
