The Panel of Judges Scrutinizes the Uniform of the PDL Defendant in the Bank Kacab Murder Case

JAKARTA - The panel of judges at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta highlighted the differences in the use of the uniforms of three soldiers of the Indonesian Army (AD) in the first trial of the death of the Head of Branch (Kacab) of a Jakarta bank with the initials MIP (37).

Presiding Judge Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto questioned the inequality in the middle of the trial agenda for examining the identity of the defendant.

"This is different, one arm is long, the other is rolled up," said Fredy in the courtroom of the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Cakung, East Jakarta, ANTARA, Monday, April 6, 2026.

The three defendants, namely Serka MN (defendant 1), Kopda FH (defendant 2), and Serka FY (defendant 3) were present wearing military uniforms.

However, there is a striking difference in the way they use the sleeves. Accused one and two seem to roll up the sleeves of their uniforms, while accused three wears a Field Service Uniform (PDL) with long sleeves without being rolled up and uses a hat.

This difference immediately caught the attention of the panel of judges during the trial. In response, the three defendants FY explained that the use of uniforms with rolled sleeves was a habit in the implementation of daily duties.

FY said the attributes worn were in accordance with the applicable provisions.

Then, the defendant's legal advisor also emphasized that the latest rules in the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) environment do regulate the use of PDL uniforms without rolling up the sleeves.

"Ready, according to the latest regulations, the PDL uniform is not rolled up," said the legal advisor in front of the panel of judges.

The judge considered that uniformity remained important in the trial, especially since the three defendants came from the same institution. Fredy also reminded that in the future the use of attributes can be adjusted.

"This is different, still detained together, right? If you can standardize the clothes," he said.

The difference was then explained by the Head of the Military Audit (Kaotmil) II-07 Jakarta, Andri Wijaya. He said that not all defendants were in the same detention status.

According to Andri, the three FY defendants were not in custody, so there was a difference in the use of uniforms compared to the other two defendants.

The spotlight on the details of the use of the uniform sleeves is a unique dynamic in the first hearing amid the court's efforts to uncover the legal facts in the death of Mohammad Ilham Pradipta.

Then, the first and second defendants immediately lowered the roll of their clothing sleeves so that the three defendants were again compact in using the uniform.

The Military Court II-08 Jakarta, Cakung, East Jakarta held the first trial for the alleged kidnapping and murder of a bank branch head (kacab) with the initials MIP (37) involving a TNI soldier, on Monday morning.

Based on the Jakarta Military Court II-08 Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) website, the trial falls under the type of murder case with case number 52-K/PM.II-08/AD/III/2026.

In the trial, the Military Audit as public prosecutor in the military court will present the three defendants directly at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta.

The defendants, namely Serka MN (defendant 1), Kopda FH (defendant 2), and Serka FY (defendant 3) are suspected of being involved in a series of kidnappings accompanied by the murder of MIP.

The presiding judge in today's trial was Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto, Member Judge I, Navy Colonel (H) Desman Wijaya, Member Judge II, Lieutenant Colonel Chk Arif Rachman.

Then the Military Audit Colonel Chk Andri Wijaya, and the Deputy Registrar, namely Navy Lieutenant (H/W) Amalia Galih Wangi.

Previously, a branch office head (kacab) of a bank in Jakarta with the initials MIP was allegedly the victim of kidnapping and murder at a shopping center in Ciracas, East Jakarta, on August 20, 2025.

The body was found in Karangsambung Village, RT 8/RW 4, Nagasari Village, Serang Baru District, Bekasi Regency, West Java, at around 05.30 WIB, on August 21, 2025.

A resident in the rice field area first found the body in a state of tied hands and feet. While the eyes were wrapped in duct tape.

The body was immediately taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for an autopsy as part of the investigation.
