JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti released 150 alumni of the Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP) to serve to accelerate digital transformation in elementary schools in the 3T region through the Digital Warrior Alumni Service Program.
Vice President Gibran in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, April 4, stated that technology is not just a tool, but a determinant of the future direction of Indonesian education.
He encouraged that the digital gap in the world of education be immediately bridged in a tangible manner.
He emphasized the importance of innovative learning methods, especially in the lagging, leading, outermost (3T) regions, so that the learning process is more effective and enjoyable with the support of technology.
"If learning feels boring, we have to find a more interesting method. Everything must be made fun. Moreover, currently there is an Interactive Flat Panel from the President. I hope you can help introduce and accompany its use," he said.
The Vice President conveyed a message that was deeper than just the agenda of strengthening the digital agenda of education that state scholarships were not a gift that stopped at the graduation hall.
"When the state has invested in someone, it's time for the investment to be returned, not in the form of reports, but through the impact that can be felt directly by students in areas that sometimes fall out of sight."
The presence of participants of the Digital Warrior Alumni who are LPDP Alumni in the 3T region, said the Vice President, is part of a joint movement to ensure that the quality of education is no longer just a slogan.
On the same occasion, LPDP President Director Sudarto explained that his agency had supported tens of thousands of scholarship recipients from various levels of education, with a strong commitment to expanding access, including affirmative areas that are often left behind in the development process.
"The most important thing is to ensure that alumni return and provide a real impact for the community," said Sudarto.
He emphasized that the success of the scholarship program cannot be measured by the number of graduates or achievement index alone.
"What is much more important is how alumni contribute to answering problems in the field," he said.
He explained that the Digital Warrior Alumni Program is one of the tangible manifestations of that philosophy. This program also expands the pattern of collaboration between the LPDP and various institutions, namely the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen).
Currently, he said, the Digital Warrior Alumni program is specifically directed to strengthen the digital transformation of education through the Utilization of Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) or Digital Interactive Board (PID).
