Nine Foreigners In Sukabumi Confirmed Positive For COVID-19

SUKABUMI - The Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, stated that nine foreign nationals (foreigners) living in the area were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"The nine foreigners are all from South Korea and have now been declared cured and can return to their activities again," said Public Relations of the Sukabumi Regency COVID-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling, Eneng Yulia, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 4.

According to the information gathered, the nine foreigners came to the largest district on the islands of Java and Bali for visits, work and others. They were found positive for COVID-19 after undergoing a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) examination.

After being declared infected with the virus that first spread in Wuhan, China, the local COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force immediately carried out tracing and treatment or isolation.

There are also nine foreigners, four of which are male and five women whose ages range from toddlers to the elderly and have recovered. On the other hand, he said every foreigner who wants to enter Sukabumi Regency must bring a health certificate and be free of COVID-19 from the results of the latest PCR test.

"Foreigners are required to carry out regular COVID-19 checks and the results must be reported to the local COVID-19 task force," he said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator for Data and Information for the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 in Sukabumi Regency, Andi Rahman, said there was no difference in handling for foreigners who were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

If someone is found to be infected, immediately tracking the people around him and the patient must undergo isolation either in the hospital if the condition is severe or independently supervised by the task force personnel where the foreigner lives.
