51 KPK Employees Considered Unable To Be Fostered Anymore, KPK Director Surprised: Only Corrupts Become Counselors

JAKARTA - The Director of Anti-Corruption Campaign and Socialization of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Giri Suprapdiono spoke about the statement from the KPK and BKN leaders which stated that 51 of the 75 KPK employees who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK) could no longer be trained and would be fired.

He was astonished by the statement and alluded to this statement defeating God's business.

"In my opinion, what the Head of BKN said that people cannot be nurtured has defeated God's business," Giri told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, June 4.

He then mentioned that many institutions have succeeded in guiding those who are considered to have committed criminal acts. In fact, the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Firli Bahuri, has also made corrupt prisoners become anti-corruption counselors.

"Other more advanced institutions such as BNPT Densus can educate terrorists, BNN can educate drug users, even the chairman of the KPK in Sukamiskin said that the person convicted was clearly a corrupt person as someone who would become an extension agent in the future," said Giri.

"Why do we, those of us who have built the KPK from the start, have to step aside," he added.

Therefore, according to Giri, the statement of 51 KPK employees is considered no longer able to be fostered because they received red points from assessors during the TWK, he and 74 other employees were worse than the perpetrators of the crime.

"So (this, ed) we fight for and we fight as hard as we can, with respect, and as best we can," he said.

Previously, the KPK had held a coordination meeting to discuss the fate of 75 employees who failed the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) and were disabled. As a result, 51 KPK employees will certainly be fired from their jobs.

"From the results of assessor mapping and we mutually agreed (in the meeting, ed) that it is possible for 24 employees to be coached while 51 employees of the assessors are already red and it is impossible to do coaching," said Deputy Chair of the KPK Alexander Marwata at a press conference held in Jakarta. Furthermore, the 24 employees who can still be appointed as employees will be given state defense education and national insight.
