Korlantas: 2026 Homecoming is Safe, Death Toll Down 30 Percent

JAKARTA - The Head of the Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the National Police, Inspector General Pol. Agus Suryonugroho, said that the homecoming and return flow of Eid 2026 was controlled from the aspect of maintaining security and order (harkamtibmas) and security, safety, order, traffic flow (kamseltibcarlantas).

Agus at the JTMC of Jasa Marga, Jatiasih Toll Road, Bekasi, West Java, explained that in terms of security, there were no prominent events.

Meanwhile, from the aspect of kamseltibcarlantas, the number of fatalities of the deceased decreased by 30 percent.

"Likewise, the number of traffic accidents in the Ketupat Operation plus KRYD (regular activities that have been improved), the incident has decreased by 7 percent," said Agus, quoted by Antara.

He said that this achievement was the success of the collaboration between the National Police and related stakeholders.

"This is part of the results of our collaboration and work together so that it is in line with the tagline of the National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, the Ketupat Operation is 'Safe Travel, Safe Return, Happy Family'," he said.

Meanwhile, the National Police has closed the implementation of Operation Ketupat 2026 or the 2026 Lebaran homecoming security operation which lasted for 13 days, namely from Friday (13/3), until Wednesday (25/3).

After the end of Operation Ketupat 2026, the National Police carried out an enhanced routine activity (KRYD).

Thus, the personnel are still in the field to anticipate the situation of harkamtibmas, including the peak of the second return flow which took place on March 28-29, 2026.
