GARUT - The peak of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr return flow at the Guntur Type A Terminal, Garut Regency, West Java, is predicted to be on Saturday after the peak of the first return flow on Tuesday (24/3).

"Today is the second wave for the return flow because yesterday was a busy Tuesday, it went down again, now (Saturday) it increased," said the Head of the Type A Terminal, Guntur Garut, Bambang Rusdiana in Garut, Saturday.

He said that the Tipe A Guntur Garut Terminal serves the arrival and departure of intercity buses within the province and intercity interprovincial buses that experience an increase in arrivals during the homecoming flow, and departures during the return flow.

"It is recorded that the peak of the return flow departure, he said, occurred on Tuesday (24/3) with a total of 7,449 passengers, then the next day it decreased, and a surge in passengers began to occur again until Saturday afternoon it had reached 6,533 people.

"This afternoon it has reached 6,500, an increase compared to the previous day, it is likely to increase because Monday's teaching and learning activities have started," he said.

He predicted that travelers who departed at the Guntur Garut Terminal were still happening or there were still around 20 to 30 percent of the number of passengers who had not departed from the Guntur Garut Terminal.

The prediction, he said, was based on the calculation of the number of passenger arrivals during the homecoming season, and currently it is estimated that passengers will still occur until Sunday (29/3), even there are still some people who do the return flow on Monday (30/3).

"The Ministry of Transportation will close until Monday, because there is a possibility of a splash (passengers) who are returning because the holiday is long," he said.

He added, currently there are three bus companies, namely Primajasa, MGI and Karuniabakti, which have prepared 172 buses, plus reserves for passenger service during the homecoming and return at the Guntur Garut Terminal.

"So far, all passengers have been served, no one has been left behind or not included, if that happens, the bus company has prepared a backup bus," he said.

"Everything is under control, so that they (passengers) feel comfortable, safe and served," he said.
