JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country hopes that Middle Eastern countries will help supply solar as a reward for helping to defeat the Shahed drone from Iran.

During his visit to the Middle East, he told the ICTV channel on Friday (27/3) that he was "finishing the matter" of solar supplies for Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine was providing expertise to Middle Eastern countries to protect infrastructure and civilians.

He stressed that the "main challenge" of the region is the protection of Iran's daridrone, despite having a significant air defense system.

As reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Zelenskyy said he had held two "important" meetings during his visit, which he called "positive" for Ukraine. However, he did not elaborate further.

Previously, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine and Saudi Arabia reached an important understanding regarding defense cooperation.

Regarding his meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Zelenskyy said they discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, as well as energy supply developments.

He also met with Ukrainian military experts who have been in the kingdom for a week to help counter the Iranian drones.
