Taqwa Parapat Grand Mosque Becomes the Backbone of Travelers, There is a Lactation Room and Disabled Facilities

SIMALUNGUN - The Taqwa Parapat Grand Mosque, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, has prepared a lactation room, disabled facilities, and resting places for pilgrims for Lebaran 2026. The mosque on the Sumatra cross-line is one of the rest stops prepared in the Friendly Mosque for Pilgrims program.

This program is run by the North Sumatra Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion together with 281 mosques throughout the province. In Simalungun, at least 15 mosques are involved because they are on a path that many travelers pass through.

The chairman of the BKM Taqwa Parapat Grand Mosque, Sumari, said that the position of the mosque which is on the main track and also a tourist area makes the need for services for pilgrims cannot be considered trivial. Therefore, the management prepared a place of worship, resting room, eating and drinking, charging mobile phones, special room for breastfeeding mothers, and bathrooms for people with disabilities.

"We do this so that travelers can rest comfortably, worship comfortably, and can travel to their destination," said Sumari, as quoted from the official Kemenag website, Wednesday, March 18.

He assessed that the Masjid Ramah Pemudik program emphasized the function of the mosque not only as a place of worship, but also a public service space that is directly felt by the community.

Head of the Islamic Information Section of the Ministry of Religion of Simalungun, Abdul Wahab Nasution, said his party had coordinated with 15 mosques to ensure that services ran well during the homecoming and return flow.

Meanwhile, a traveler from Aceh, Yetnawati, admitted that he was helped by facilities at the Grand Mosque of Taqwa. He said that the comfortable rest area and clean bathroom made his family's journey lighter.

The same thing was conveyed by Fira Pane. He learned about the service from the Ramah Pemudik Mosque banner and immediately took advantage of it to rest with his family. According to him, the facility is very helpful for travelers who travel long distances.
