JAKARTA - The government officially appealed to all state institutions not to hold excessive open house or halalbihalal events during the 1447 Hijriah/2025 Masehi Eid al-Fitr celebration.
Mensesneg Prasetyo Hadi said this step was taken as a form of empathy for the community which is still in a difficult economic condition.
"We have sent a circular letter to all ministries and agencies to urge us not to overdo it in organizing open houses and halal bihalal," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 17.
Prasetyo said the circular letter addressed to all ministries and state institutions was a direct instruction from President Prabowo Subianto.
Prasetyo emphasized that the spirit of this year's celebration must be accompanied by simplicity.
The Minister of Home Affairs reminded state officials to be sensitive to the social situation, considering that there are still many citizens who are in a state of concern.
"However, there are still many of our brothers and sisters who are not in good condition. So we appeal not to be too excessive," he said.
When asked about the plan for an open house at the Presidential Palace, Prasetyo has not given a definitive answer.
He stated that the certainty regarding the agenda was still waiting for further developments.
