ACEH - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has disbursed Rp100.9 billion in aid to support the recovery of various aspects of the lives of survivors of natural disasters in East Aceh Regency.

The money assistance was symbolically handed over by the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf together with the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian during the handover of assistance at the East Aceh Regent's Pendopo, Kampung Jawa, Idi Rayeuk District, East Aceh, Monday, March 16.

"It is hoped that this assistance is really in the form of household recovery, both the infrastructure of the house and later the economic recovery," said the Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, to the media after handing over the assistance.

According to the Minister of Social Affairs, the assistance provided by the government to families of survivors of disasters is quite valuable. If assumed, he said, the value of assistance for each family could reach Rp. 60 million.

There is also assistance for household equipment of Rp3 million, economic assistance of Rp5 million, and life insurance, for example, for four people in one family worth Rp5.4 million.

"So one family can get Rp60 million plus Rp13.4 million," said the Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf.

The Minister of Social Affairs said that the distribution of assistance was based on data from the East Aceh Regency Government (Pemkab) which had accurate and verified data. "The data is also dynamic and will continue to increase," he said.

His party will distribute the aid gradually by referring to the data that has been verified, with the principle that the faster the better.

The Minister of Social Affairs explained that the distribution of assistance was also carried out according to procedures, namely through the process of verifying data in a complete and accurate manner, then sent to the Ministry of Finance. After being approved by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Social Affairs sent an instruction letter to PT Pos Indonesia to distribute assistance to each beneficiary family.

The assistance is distributed in three ways, namely direct distribution to the beneficiary families who come to PT Pos Indonesia, handed over in communities such as in villages, or in the homes of agreed-upon figures.

Meanwhile, for the elderly who are in a condition that does not allow them to take assistance directly, the PT Pos Indonesia will visit each house.

"Hopefully this can be well understood. Especially in Aceh, the assistance is indeed distributed through PT Pos Indonesia, so that it can be accessed more quickly and easily by the beneficiaries," said the Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf.

The Minister of Social Affairs appealed to every beneficiary to use the assistance as best as possible in accordance with its provisions for the recovery of the impact of natural disasters.
