JAKARTA - A fire also hit a resident's house on Jalan Tegal Kunir, Gang Sadar, RT 02/13, Tugu Utara Village, Koja District, North Jakarta on Monday, March 16, 2026.

"The cause of the fire is suspected to be due to an electrical short circuit," said Kasiop Sudin Gulkarmat North Jakarta and Thousand Islands, Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed.

The house that burned was a semi-permanent building. The fire burned a building with an area of 9x9 square meters.

As a result of the fire, the owner of the house named Rambai Hidayat suffered a loss of IDR 200 million. Later it was found that the house was inhabited by 2 households with a total of 6 people.

"Initially, the fire was known by one of the residents who smelled a burning smell. The resident then came out of his house and saw smoke in one of the nearby residents' houses," he said.

There were no casualties due to the fire. A total of 9 fire trucks with 45 personnel managed to put out the flames at 10.52 WIB.

"The extinguishing process lasted about 30 minutes. Now the fire has been extinguished by the officers," he said.

Meanwhile, the fire incident is still under investigation by the Koja Police to find out the exact cause of the fire.
