US-Israeli Attack on Iran Kills 223 Women and 202 Children

JAKARTA - At least 223 women and 202 children have been killed in the US-Israeli attack on Iran since February 28, the Iranian Health Ministry said on Sunday.

The dead included three pregnant women and 12 children under the age of five, the ministry said in a statement carried by the Fars News Agency, as reported by Anadolu (16/3).

The Iranian Ministry of Health added that 41 children were also injured in the attack.

According to the statement, the US-Israeli attack has caused significant damage to Iran's health care infrastructure, with 153 health centers damaged across the country.

It is known that tensions have increased in the Middle East, following the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran on February 28, which Tehran said killed more than 1,300 people, including Ali Khamenei, the former supreme leader, and more than 150 students.

Since then, Iran has launched drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US military assets.

Tehran has also effectively tightened the Strait of Hormuz since March 1. This narrow waterway transports around 20 million barrels of oil per day and about 20 percent of global liquefied natural gas trade.
