WKM Lee Kah Hin's Legal Representative Hopes for Justice Ahead of Preliminary Hearing Decision

JAKARTA - The pretrial hearing for the determination of suspects and the detention of the boss of PT Wana Kencana Mineral, Lee Kah Hin at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) will enter the final round. The judge is expected to provide justice.

This was conveyed by Lee Kah Hin's lawyer, Rolas Sitinjak after reading the conclusion today, March 13. The company's chief director sued the determination of suspects and detention in the case of providing false testimony under oath during the trial by investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya.

"We hope that justice in this Republic still exists. We are optimistic," Rolas told reporters.

According to Rolas, if the witnesses presented by the prosecutor can be suspects. "There may be no one else who wants to be a witness," he said.

The pretrial hearing with the agenda of reading the conclusion was brief. After receiving the conclusion sheet of both parties, the pretrial applicant and respondent, Judge Zaenal Arifin stated that the verdict would be read next Tuesday.

During the trial from Monday, March 9 to Friday, March 13, Lee Kah Hin was represented by lawyers Maqdir Ismail, Rolas Sitinjak, and Haris Azhar.

Meanwhile, the Metro Jaya Police was represented by the legal department of AKP Indon and Briptu Garindra.

Lee Kah Hin is known to be a suspect in false testimony after testifying in a trial at the Central Jakarta District Court in October 2025. He then testified as a witness who was presented by the public prosecutor together with Eko Wiratmoko.

Lee Kah Hin's statement has been included in the file by the police investigators.

The trial tried the installation of a peg in the Izin Usaha Pertambangan area of PT WKM. The problem arose after PT Position reported Awwab and his colleague Marsel Bialembang to the police until they became defendants.

The cases of Awwab and Marsel were decided by the judge in December 2025. Meanwhile, the intelligence report was carried out a month before the judge decided the verdict or in November 2025.

Regarding the case that ensnared Lee Kah Hin, Haris Azhar as a lawyer previously suspected that there was a trade war between nickel companies in Weda Bay or Weda Bay, in East Halmahera, North Maluku. The suspicion arose because Ardiyanto represented PT Position when he reported to the Polda Metro Jaya.

This suspicion is getting stronger because there is a dialogue between PT WKM and PT Position, which is a subsidiary of PT Harum Energy, Tbk. This effort appears outside the legal process.
