Cilacap OTT, KPK secures 27 people including Regent Syamsul Aulia Rachman

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) secured 27 people in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in the Cilacap Regency area, Central Java on Friday, March 13. One of them is Cilacap Regent Syamsul Aulia Rachman.

"KPK conducted a closed investigation in the Cilacap Regency area. Where today the team secured a total of 27 people, one of which was the Regent of Cilacap," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, March 13.

These dozens of people, continued Budi, are undergoing intensive examinations. From this process it will be decided who will be taken to the anti-corruption commission office.

"Later, of course, the team will conduct further examinations and be taken to the Red and White KPK Building, of course, for further examination," he said.

"Regarding the closed investigation today in the Cilacap area, there is an alleged receipt made by the regent regarding projects in Cilacap Regency," continued Budi.

As previously reported, the KPK had just held an OTT in Central Java in early March. During the activity, the Regent of Pekalongan Fadia Rafiq was named a suspect in alleged conflicts of interest in the procurement of goods and services and alleged gratification.

Fadia through his family's company, PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (PT RNB) is suspected of monopolizing outsourcing services and goods projects in Pekalongan Regency, Central Java. He is also suspected of receiving other gifts while in office.

PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya was established after Fadia took office or precisely in 2022 with her husband, Mukhtaruddin Ashraff Abu as a Member of the Indonesian Parliament and Muhammad Sabiq Ashraff, a legislator for the Lamongan Regency DPRD, who is her son.
