Former Director of Agricultural Financing of the Ministry of Agriculture Escaped Before Being Arrested in South Sumatra

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has confirmed the arrest of the former Director of Agricultural Financing of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) of the Republic of Indonesia, Indah Megawati (IM), related to alleged corruption in the Kementan environment.

Apart from Indah, the police also secured another suspect with the initials DSK in the same case.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, said Indah was arrested in the Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, on Monday, March 9, 2026.

According to Budi, the suspect had fled before he was finally secured by investigators.

"It is true that the suspects IM and DSK were arrested in the Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency on Monday, March 9, 2026 in a corruption case that was reported some time ago and has been handled. The suspect fled and was later arrested," Budi told reporters at the Polda Metro Jaya, Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

After the arrest, investigators then carried out the detention process for the two suspects. Budi said that the suspect Indah Megawati was immediately detained on March 9, 2026, while the suspect DSK was detained on March 10, 2026.

"We convey that at this time two suspects have been detained. The first suspect, sister IM, was detained on March 9, 2026 and brother DSK on March 10, 2026," he said.

Currently, the two suspects have been placed in the Metro Jaya Police detention house to undergo further legal proceedings.

"Both suspects have occupied the detention facility at the Polda Metro Jaya," he said.

However, the police have not detailed further regarding the role of each suspect or the value of state losses in the alleged corruption case. Investigators are still investigating the case.

Polda Metro Jaya previously revealed a case of alleged corruption in the environment of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia involving the former Director of Agricultural Financing, Indah Megahwati. In this case, two people have been named as suspects.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, said that this case began with a complaint from the Minister of Agriculture by attaching the results of the BPKP DKI Jakarta audit. In the initial audit, there was an alleged state loss related to the Travel Order for State Officials worth Rp9 billion.

"But when conducting an in-depth investigation, examination of witnesses, examination of evidence, the audit was carried out, a loss of Rp. 5.94 billion was found," he said.

He emphasized that the corruption occurred in the period 2020 to 2024. In this case, two people hold the status of suspects, one of which is Indah Megahwati.

"Currently there are two suspects, namely Brother Engineer IM and another suspect, namely DSD. This plays a role as treasurer. So this process is still ongoing, at this time both of them have been named as suspects, including the determination of the court seizure has come out," he said.
