One RT In Cilincing Locked Down, Deputy Governor Of DKI: A Lesson

JAKARTA - Another COVID-19 cluster appears in the capital city. RT 01 RW 04 Semper Barat Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, a mini lockdown was carried out due to 22 residents who were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria asked that this case be used as a lesson for Jakarta residents to remain vigilant over the transmission of the corona virus.

"This is important for us to be a lesson for all, communities in every smallest neighborhood must be careful," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, June 3.

Riza said the government's policy towards the implementation of micro community activity restrictions (PPKM) showed good results. However, it must still be supported by the vigilance of the citizens.

"All residents of Jakarta, even though the number (case development) is getting better, we ask that we continue to implement the 3M protocol and do not leave the house for those who are not important," he said.

This is especially true for children under 9 years old and parents over 60 years old. Moreover, new variants of COVID-19 from India, England and South Africa have entered Jakarta.

"(The new variant of COVID-19) transmits faster and is also quite deadly. Again, everyone must be careful. We are still fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to increase efforts related to vaccination," he explained.

It is known, a total of 22 residents in RT 01 RW 04 Semper Barat Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta have tested positive for COVID-19. Currently the RT is locked down to suppress the spread of cases.

Head of RW 04 Semper Barat, M. Roji said, one of the people who tested positive for COVID-19 died. Now, there are 21 residents who are undergoing isolation at the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Hospital and the Workers' Hospital.

"Currently there are 21 people in all, based on the test results from May 31 to June 2. Finally, there are only 8 additional positive people. They were immediately taken by school bus to be isolated," said Roji.

Chairman of RT 01 RW 04 Semper Barat, Mulyadi said that the beginning of the COVID-19 cluster in his area occurred when one of the residents with the initials A died positive for COVID-19.

A's body was buried in the Public Cemetery (TPU) specifically for the bodies of COVID-19 patients in Rorotan, Cilincing, North Jakarta. Family A held tahlilan at his house.

Until finally the Semper Barat Village Health Center conducted a COVID-19 examination for family A and there were three positive members. Finally, the village head of Semper Barat immediately conducted contact tracing and carried out a mass swab of 95 people. "The result is that from 95 people, the number is almost 22 who are exposed," he continued.
