The Acting Governor Of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Was Questioned By The KPK Regarding The Flow Of Nurdin Abdullah's Bribe Money

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined the Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman as a witness related to the bribery and gratification case that ensnared the inactive South Sulawesi Governor Nurdin Abdullah.

Andi Sudirman was questioned regarding the alleged flow and use of funds at Nurdin's orders while still in office.

"Andi Sudirman, the Acting Governor of South Sulawesi, was investigated for his knowledge regarding the alleged flow and use of a sum of money on the orders of suspect NA for certain needs," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Thursday, June 3.

In addition to examining Andi Sudirman on Wednesday, June 2, KPK investigators also summoned three other witnesses, namely Nurdin's son, M Fathul Fauzy Nurdin; housewife, Meikewati Bunadi; and entrepreneur, Yusuf Tyos.

When examining Fathul, the KPK studied the receipt of money and confiscated evidence. However, Ali did not specify what items were confiscated by investigators.

"The knowledge of the witness was investigated, among others, related to the alleged receipt of a sum of money by the suspect NA and at the same time the confiscation of evidence related to this case," he said.

Meanwhile, with regard to Meikewati Bunadi and Yusuf Tyos, investigators are exploring their knowledge of the alleged flow of money from various parties to Nurdin Abdullah et al.

Previously reported, the KPK named Nurdin Abdullah as a suspect in cases of alleged bribery and gratification related to the procurement of goods and services, licensing and infrastructure development within the South Sulawesi Provincial Government for the 2020-2021 Fiscal Year.

This PDIP politician was named a suspect along with the Secretary of the PUPR Office of South Sulawesi Province, Edy Rahmat. Meanwhile, Director of PT Agung Perdana Bulukumba (APB) Agung Sucipto was named a suspect for giving bribes.

While serving as Governor of South Sulawesi, Nurdin was suspected of receiving bribes and gratuities with a total value of Rp 5.4 billion related to projects within the South Sulawesi Provincial Government. Rp2 billion was given from Agung through Edy.

The bribes and gratuities were given so that Agung could return to work on the project in South Sulawesi for the 2021 fiscal year.

As a result of their actions, Nurdin and Edy were suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 and Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to the Law. Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.
