JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government would regulate the existence of shadow terminals that have been operating without official permits, especially those that are crowded before the Lebaran homecoming rush.

According to him, passenger transportation activities outside the official terminal cannot continue to be left alone because it is related to aspects of safety, order, and supervision.

"For shadow terminals that are more crowded, then that is something that we will regulate," said Pramono in the Glodok area, West Jakarta, Tuesday, March 3.

He asked all transportation operators and prospective passengers to use the official terminal facilities that have been set by the government. This policy also applies to participants in the free homecoming program facilitated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

"We ask everyone to use the official terminal, including those who will return home later," he said.

This year, the DKI Provincial Government has decided to send 26,500 passengers in the free homecoming program. All departure processes are ensured through official transportation and terminals that are under government supervision.

"We will use official transportation or terminals, except those that receive approval or permission from the DKI Jakarta Government such as Monas, it can be used," said Pramono.

He emphasized that locations other than official terminals can only be used if they have received special permission from the DKI Provincial Government, such as the National Monument (Monas) area. Beyond that, shadow terminals will be a priority for enforcement ahead of the homecoming season.
