JAKARTA - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) provides special allowances for ASN and non-ASN teachers affected by the Sumatra disaster of Rp. 2 million per month which is given for three months starting from December 2025.

Representative of the National Secretariat of the Safe Education Unit for Disaster (SPAB) of the Ministry of Education, Jamjam Muzaki, said that the special allowance was targeted at 59,000 teachers with the distribution process having reached more than 50 percent.

"Special allowances, there are around 59,000 of us and those who have been distributed are around 36,000 teachers," said Jamjam as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 3.

He explained that one teacher would receive a benefit of Rp. 2 million per month and would be given for three months.

"So in total, the special allowance for affected teachers is around Rp. 6 million," he said.

The three months, he said, will be from December 2025 to February 2026.

Apart from special allowances for teachers, Jamjam said his party would continue to pay attention to the real needs in the post-disaster area, especially regarding the new proposal for assistance.

"This is being verified for several new proposals. Because this data collection is dynamic, yes in the field," he said.

He added that his party targeted the recovery of the condition of post-disaster education services in the areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, which took place within three years.

"Maybe we target this recovery is the same as BNPB, 3 years," said JamjamMuzaki.

This year, his party prioritizes the recovery of educational facilities and infrastructure which will be supported by policy adjustments.
