JAKARTA - UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the UN was concerned about military activities in Lebanon amid the war between Iran against the US-Israel.
This is related to the statement of the Hezbollah Group which expressed full solidarity with Iran and its people after the US and Israel launched an attack on Iran.
Hizbullah then launched several attacks on Israeli territory, which Israel responded to by targeting various military locations of the group in Lebanon.
"In Lebanon, where we have a political presence and peacekeepers, tensions have also increased. We are very concerned about the exchange of fire along the Blue Line. The situation on the ground is evolving rapidly, and we are closely monitoring developments," Dujarric told reporters.
Dujarric said the UN was also aware of the firing aimed at Israel claimed by Hezbollah and the Israeli attacks launched on a number of areas in Lebanon.
"Our UNIFIL peacekeepers there remain in their positions despite the challenging situation," Dujarric said.
Previously on Saturday (28/2), the United States and Israel launched an attack on a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties.
The attack also left Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and several senior Iranian government and military officials dead.
Iran retaliated with attacks on Israeli territory, as well as US military bases across the Middle East.
