JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is trying to follow up on any information related to the whereabouts of former PDI-P candidate Harun Masiku, a fugitive in the alleged bribery case for interim replacement (PAW) members of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

Including information from KPK investigator Harun Al Rasyid who said that only Harun Masiku's number plates in Indonesia were known.

"Some time ago there was information that he came here. Of course we will follow up on the information," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Setyo Budiyanto to reporters at the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 2.

In the search process, the KPK has also carried out various methods such as publishing a wanted list (DPO) on behalf of Harun Masiku since 17 January.

In addition, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has also taken two precautionary measures abroad for the alleged briber to the KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

During that time, Setyo asserted, the KPK continued to try to find Harun even though it was not disclosed to the public.

"His name is conducting a search trying to find out his position where once again it has never been published except for open ones such as searches by investigators in several places in Central Sulawesi," he said.

After outside prevention could no longer be carried out due to a maximum of two extensions, the KPK then asked the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Indonesia to issue a red notice on behalf of Harun Masiku on Monday, May 31 yesterday.

"So we take advantage of what we get out of by asking the NCB, which we are also still making efforts to," he said.

He ensured that the search for the fugitive would continue and would not be affected by the process of deactivating 75 KPK employees due to not passing the National Insight Test (TWK). Setyo is sure because at the KPK Investigation Directorate there are a number of task forces (satgas).

Moreover, so far, the results of the team's work in the field are always checked by the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, and exposure or case titles are also carried out from the deputy to the leadership level.

"So this opportunity, I want to convey the process of handling the case as well as possible," said Setyo.

Previously, KPK investigator Harun Al Rasyid said Harun Masiku was still in Indonesia. In fact, the anti-corruption commission investigators know the number plate and the type of car used by the alleged briber, former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

"There is (detected in Indonesia, ed). We know the number plate person, who uses the car. How can you (you, ed) not believe that Harun is still alive," Harun told reporters, Sunday, May 30.

However, he did not specify the whereabouts of Harun Masiku. However, these investigators confirmed that the fugitive was still in Indonesia until Friday, May 28.

Harun also doesn't want to talk much about the technicalities of searching for the KPK fugitive because this cannot be shared with the public. "But the point is, Harun Masiku is there. That's all. Based on the results of our work, he is in Indonesia," he said.

However, he admits that he can't do anything. The reason is that many investigators in the search team have been asked to hand over their duties to their superiors and one of them is senior investigator Ambarita Damanik.

This handover was carried out after the leadership's decision letter related to the results of the national insight test (TWK). He was not so sure Harun Masiku could be chased after the deactivation of dozens of KPK employees who did not pass the test.

"There is Pak Damanik too, yes, there are several other colleagues. I just think it will be difficult (the pursuit, ed)," he said.
