JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) said the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) must facilitate the submission of restitution for the families of victims of violence by law enforcement officers against a child who died in Tual City, Maluku Province.
"The KPAI has identified several urgent needs, including the submission of restitution for the victims' families," said KPAI Member Diyah Puspitarini when contacted in Jakarta, Friday, quoted by Antara.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Empowerment of Women and Child Protection is asked to provide clinical psychological support for psychological and psychosocial accompaniment for child survivors.
"KPAI also noted obstacles at the regional level, especially the limited number of psychologists in Tual City, which has the potential to hinder the optimization of psychosocial recovery services for child victims," said Diyah Puspitarini.
The Ministry of Social Affairs is asked to provide social assistance to the victim's family.
The KPAI also asked the Directorate of Criminal Trade in Women and Children - Human Trafficking (PPA PPO) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police to supervise and escort the handling of cases until the criminal court verdict to ensure that the process is professional, transparent, and accountable.
