JAKARTA - Lithuania will send 30 RBS missiles to Ukraine to strengthen its air defense capabilities, the country's defense minister said during his visit to Kyiv on Tuesday.

"To help protect critical infrastructure, we are sending 30 RBS missiles to Ukraine. This is a much-needed weapon for Ukraine and will help strengthen its air defenses," Robertas Kaunas said after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Anadolu (26/2) reported.

Kaunas himself traveled to Kyiv on the fourth anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The meeting of the coalition of willing countries and the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) was held in conjunction with bilateral talks with Zelensky and Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense said.

At the NB8 meeting, Kaunas' defense minister called for increased support to fight Russia's attacks on civilian energy infrastructure during the winter months.

He said Lithuania had sent 90 generators worth more than 2 million euros during the coldest period of January-February 2026 and was preparing to send additional diesel generators, transformers and electric motors to help restore electricity supplies in Ukraine.

Vilnius will also contribute to the Priority Needs List for Ukraine initiative, by supplying US-made weapons to Kyiv, the ministry added.

The Minister of Defense of Kaunas announced that a new shipment of liquefied natural gas from the US, via the Klaipeda LNG terminal, will arrive in Ukraine soon.

In separate talks with Defense Minister Fedorov, both sides discussed expanding industrial cooperation and agreed to continue closer collaboration on the Lithuanian-Ukrainian joint arms production project in both countries.
