JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has clarified a video circulating on social media regarding the distribution of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) during sahur and confirmed that the information is not true or hoax.
Deputy Head of BGN for Public Communication and Investigation, Nanik S. Deyang, said that the implementation of MBG during Ramadan still refers to the Circular Letter of the Head of the National Nutrition Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3 of 2026 concerning the Service of Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) in the Month of Ramadan and Idul Fitri 1447H/2026M and Chinese New Year Holidays 2026.
"In the provisions there is no scheme for distributing food at sahur time. We need to clarify, MBG during Ramadan is only distributed on Mondays and Thursdays with official service hours from 08.00-09.00 WIB and 11.00-12.00 WIB," said Nanik in an official statement in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, February 23.
The schedule applies to the mechanism for taking at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), delivery to schools, and delivery through scheduled handover points.
For boarding schools and pesantren, food processing is carried out during the day and served during the breaking of the fast in accordance with coordination with the education unit.
At the beginning of Ramadan, namely 18-22 February 2026, the distribution of MBG was not carried out. Distribution resumed on Monday, February 23, 2026, with a service pattern twice a week, every Monday and Thursday.
In areas with a majority of beneficiaries fasting, MBG is given in the form of a healthy packaged food package that can be consumed during Iftar or gradually.
The package is produced and packaged by SPPG while still meeting the standards of balanced nutrition and food safety.
"The schedule and mechanism have been clearly regulated in the Circular. We appeal to the public not to be easily provoked by misleading content and always refer to official information," said Nanik.
