YOGYAKARTA - President Prabowo appointed Prihati Pujowaskito as the new BPJS Health Director. The appointment was made through Presidential Decree (Keppres) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) No. 17/P Year 2026 Concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Supervisory Board and Membership of the Board of Directors of the Health Social Security Organizing Agency. The profile of Pihati Pujowaskito himself is known as a TNI Veteran who was active in various positions.

Prihati Pujowaskito's Profile

Major General TNI (Ret.) Dr. dr. Prihati Pujowaskito, Sp.JP(K), FIHF AA, MMRS is a doctor with a military background. He is known as a specialist in heart and vascular diseases who studied medicine in Indonesia.

Prihati Pujowaskito was born in Solo on March 29, 1967. As a TNI soldier, Prihati was once a high-ranking officer with the rank of Major General. He completed his military education in 1990 through Sepamilsuk ABRI III in 1990.

Prihati's interest in medicine has been visible for a long time. In 1998 he attended the Basic Health Care Course (Sussarcabkes).

It is worth noting that Sussarcabkes is a continuation of military education for first officers who teach various things related to field health, field hospital management, to helping war victims.

As a member of the TNI who is interested in the world of health, Prihati received her medical education at Universitas Sebelas Maret and successfully earned a bachelor's degree in 1991. After that, he continued his Master's (S2) education at Universitas Airlangga and successfully completed his studies in 2007.

Not stopping there, he returned to graduate studies at the Gotong Royong School of Economics with a focus on Hospital Management. He managed to complete his studies in 2015. Prihati then continued his education at Borobudur University taking Law and graduated in 2022.

Prihati started her career in the health world in 1995. Reported by Antara, Prihati initially became a Health Officer of the Kopassus Battalion. He held that position until July 2022. Not only that, he also became an educator as a lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine at Jenderal Ahmad Yani University. He has been in this profession since January 2008 until now.

Not only as a lecturer, Prihati served as the Dean of the Faculty of Military Medicine at the Defense University for 2023-2025. Currently, Prihati Pujiwaskito's profile is not only known as a retired TNI but as the President Director of BPJS Health.
