KPK Appoints 5 Directors and 1 Kabiro, Including Former Spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika and Prosecutor Budhi Sarumpaet

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appointed five directors and one bureau chief (kabiro) today, February 20. Among them are Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto who served as KPK Spokesperson and Budhi Sarumpaet who served as senior public prosecutor (JPU).

The inauguration and oath-taking ceremony was held at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. This process was led by the Secretary General of the KPK, Cahya H. Harefa.

"I hereby officially appoint. I believe that you brothers will carry out your duties as well as possible in accordance with the responsibilities given," said Cahya at the event.

The following are the details of the directors and bureau chiefs who were inaugurated:

1. Kunto Ariawan - Director of Community Development and Participation of the KPK; 2. Tessa Mahardika Sugiarto - Director of Investigation; 3. Maruli Tua - Director of Regional Coordination and Supervision V; 4. Iskandar Marwanto - Head of the Legal Bureau; 5. Taryanto - Director of Corruption Detection and Analysis; and 6. Budhi Sarumpaet - Director of Prosecution

The officials who were inaugurated have undergone open selection with various stages. They were declared successful since December 23, 2025.

The KPK had previously also appointed three deputies on Wednesday, February 18. They are the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu; Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Aminudin; and Deputy for Coordination and Supervision of the KPK Ely Kusumastuti.

During the inauguration, KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto reminded his staff to synergize in eradicating corruption in the country. The development of time must also be followed so that the movement is more adaptive.

"We hope that with the trust that has been given, it can really color the Corruption Eradication Commission as a whole. I say, I also emphasize that we must be able to collaborate with all parties. I don't want there to be only sectoral ones," said Setyo.
