There is Another Agenda, Former Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Did not Fulfill the KPK Call Today

JAKARTA - Former Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi did not meet the call of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) because he had other agendas today.

He should be examined as a witness to the alleged bribery of the railway line development project of the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for East Java.

His testimony is needed to complete the file of Harno Trimadi as the former Director of DJKA. As for the figure, he has been sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Jakarta Corruption Court in 2023.

"The confirmation witness could not meet the call for a statement today because there was another agenda scheduled," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters, Wednesday, February 18.

Budi Karya will be called again. But, Budi said, the schedule will be adjusted by investigators.

"Investigators will reschedule the examination," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK continues to develop the bribery case for the railway line development project of the Director General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for East Java. Most recently, Sudewo as a former Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2020-2024 was named a suspect.

Then, the KPK also promised to investigate the members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 who enjoyed the flow of money. One of them is Lasarus as the Chairman of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives at that time and was said in the trial to enjoy a project fee of 10 percent.

He is suspected of receiving money flows with members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 from various factions who are suspected of enjoying fees. They include Ridwan Bae, Hamka Baco Kady to Sadarestuwati.
