Chinese New Year, Traffic Flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Increases

JAKARTA - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded an increase in traffic flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road since the long holiday season of the Chinese New Year.

Throughout Monday, February 16 afternoon to evening, traffic flow on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road was quite crowded. Vehicles that pass are dominated by private vehicles.

VP Corporate Secretary & Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in Karawang Regency, West Java, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 17, said that since entering the long Chinese New Year holiday season, the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road has been quite busy.

PT JTT recorded an increase in community mobility on the momentum of the 2026 Chinese New Year Holiday. Until the H-4 to H-2 period (February 13-15, 2026), as many as 119,532 vehicles were recorded moving towards the East Java Region through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT).

The number of vehicles passing through the toll road increased by 31.37 percent compared to the normal traffic of 90,987 vehicles.

Meanwhile, for vehicles passing from the East Trans Java Region to Jakarta via GT Cikampek Utama, a total of 95,039 vehicles were recorded, or an increase of 2.95 percent compared to normal traffic of 92,312 vehicles.

Along with the end of the long holiday period, JTT projects an increase in the volume of return traffic on Tuesday, February 17.

The return flow for the long Imlek holiday is estimated to reach 39,379 vehicles from the east of Trans Java through the Cikampek Utama GT, or an increase of 53.75 percent from the normal traffic of 25,612 vehicles.

JTT has taken various steps to anticipate the surge, including strengthening operational services, optimizing toll stations, preparing field officers, and intensive coordination with the police and related agencies to maintain the smooth flow of traffic.
