BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Youth and Sports Office (Dispora) has inventoried the damage at the Pakansari Stadium after heavy rain accompanied by strong winds caused part of the stadium's roof to fall off, Thursday, February 12.
Head of the Bogor Regency Dispora, Asnan, said the most damage occurred to the stadium roof in the 4th and 5th gate areas, as well as part of gate 6. However, not all parts of the roof were damaged.
"The most flying at gate 4 and gate 5, there are also at gate 6, but not all. There are some parts that are hollow," said Asnan, Thursday afternoon.
He explained that the incident occurred during heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that rotated in the stadium area, causing a number of roof covers to fall off.
In addition to the main stadium, Dispora also recorded damage at a number of other sports venues within the Pakansari complex, including the tennis arena and the agility match venue.
"There was also a report from security officers that the roof of the venue was broken. Currently, we are all inventorying," he said.
Asnan added, the initial step taken was to carry out a thorough check on the level of damage, then followed by securing and cleaning materials, especially the broken ceiling.
"After checking, we immediately cleaned it to make it safe and not dangerous," he said.
He ensured that there were no casualties in the incident, although there was activity in preparation for the event at several venues.
"Alhamdulillah there were no casualties. There were only the equipment for the match that had been installed and affected by the wind," said Asnan.
The Bogor Regency Dispora will continue to collect damage data as the basis for further handling and ensure that all sports facilities in the Pakansari area are safe to use again.
