JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the North Jakarta Metro Police has uncovered a case of motorcycle theft (curanmor) related to the circulation of methamphetamine type narcotics in the Tanah Merah area, Koja, North Jakarta, Thursday, February 12, 2026.

In the disclosure of the case, it turned out that the perpetrators of the theft often exchanged stolen motorcycles for money and narcotics to the dealer who also acted as a drug dealer in the Tanah Merah, Koja area.

The main suspects in the curanmor amounted to two people with the initials RM and AS.

Meanwhile, the other 4 suspects are involved in the circulation of narcotics in the Tanah Merah area. The four suspects I, S, A and M are accomplices and dealers of drugs with the initials CJ (DPO).

"So the motor thief with the initials CJ (DPO) is located in Tanah Merah. When raided, at the location of the thief we found various types of sharp weapons in the form of machetes, arrows, bows and drugs. We found a link between curanmor and drugs," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of North Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Onkoseno Gradiarso Sukahar, accompanied by Jatanras Kanit AKP I Gede Gustiana and Resmob Kanit AKP Seno.

The two suspects in the robbery were repeat offenders and had committed 5 motor theft crimes in North Jakarta.

"These perpetrators of curanmor are in groups, but often change partners when carrying out their criminal acts," he said.

In addition, the police also found a number of stolen motorcycles that were sold to the dealer.

"At the crime scene we found a motor vehicle that we have identified. From our investigation, this suspected dealer is a vehicle dealer and then exchanged for drugs. CJ is a dealer of stolen goods and a drug dealer," he said.

The suspects sold stolen motorcycles at varying prices to a dealer with the initials CJ in the Tanah Merah area, Koja.

"The selling price is varied, stolen motorcycles can be priced at Rp. 1-3 million per motorcycle depending on the condition. After selling the motorcycle to the dealer, the perpetrator receives money and methamphetamine from the dealer," he said.

In addition, during the urine examination, the perpetrator of this motorcycle theft was also positive for consuming drugs from the sale of stolen motorcycles.

The disclosure of the case began when the Jatanras Opsnal Team of the North Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit was carrying out an observation in the Tanjung Priok area.

The Opsnal team suspected the vehicle without a license plate number passing. The team then stopped and searched the two perpetrators with the initials RM and AS and found the key to the Y, a modified min screwdriver.

After the perpetrator was interrogated, it was found that the motorcycle used was the result of a theft committed by them. The motorcycle will be sold to a dealer with the initials CJ in the Tanah Merah area, Koja.

The police then secured the two perpetrators and developed it to successfully uncover the robbery and drug network in the Tanah Merah, Koja area.

As a result of their actions, the suspects were charged with theft with a charge under Article 477 of the Criminal Code.
