Flood Waters Inundated Access to Prabowo's Residence in Hambalang, 63 Houses Submerged

BOGOR - Flooding submerged Jalan Cijayanti, Babakan Madang, Bogor Regency, Wednesday, February 11 afternoon to evening, including the main access to President Prabowo Subianto's residence in Bojong Koneng Village (Hambalang area).

Water overflowed from Kali Cijayanti after heavy rain hit the area for about two to three hours. The overflow occurred from 16.00 to 19.00 WIB and flooded the road body to almost the height of an adult's knee.

"Water from Kali Cijayanti overflowed. The Cijayanti road, which is usually an access to Bojong Koneng, is covered with water. Many motorcyclists were slow because they were afraid of breaking down," said Didin, a local resident.

Although four-wheeled vehicles can still pass through, traffic flow was hampered by puddles. Jalan Cijayanti is known to be the main route to the Bojong Koneng area, including access to the President's residence in Hambalang.

In addition to flooding the road, the flood also submerged the residents' settlement in Carewed Village, Cijayanti Village. BPBD Bogor Regency data recorded 63 houses affected with a total of 185 people. The water level in the settlement varies between 60 centimeters to 2 meters.

Bogor Regency BPBD Emergency and Logistics Staff Jalaludin said the flood also brought mud from the Sarapati River which entered the residents' houses.

"After receiving the report, BPBD together with Damkar Sector Babakan Madang, the police, the military, and the sub-district immediately came down to help handle the flood and clean up the mud," said Jalaludin, Thursday, February 12.

Officers cleaned up the remaining mud and ensured that the water began to recede at night. So far, no deaths have been reported in the incident.
