BOGOR - A series of accidents involving one truck and six cars occurred on the Jagorawi Toll Road KM 47B towards Jakarta on Wednesday, February 11, at around 06.15 WIB. The incident had triggered a long traffic jam at the scene during the morning rush hour.
The accident is suspected to have started from a Hino Tractor truck with the police number B-9071-UIZ which was traveling from Ciawi to Jakarta. When crossing the descending road section and slightly turning, the driver was suspected of being less careful and driving at high speed when facing a queue of vehicles in front of him.
"It is suspected that the driver of the Hino vehicle was not careful and lacked anticipation and high speed because the road was downhill," said Head of Traffic Police, Bogor City Police, AKP Roby Rachman, Wednesday night.
At the time of the incident, there was also a narrowing of the lane due to road repair work. Although the toll road manager had installed a traffic cone as a marker, the truck driver was allegedly late realizing the queue of vehicles that were flowing in the tunnel area.
