JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin ensures that 120 thousand patients with catastrophic diseases who are registered as Recipients of Health Insurance Dues (PBI JK) but are affected by the completion of data will still receive health care and services.
Budi explained that his party had written to hospitals to continue to provide treatment for the 120 thousand patients.
The Minister of Health said that among the patients affected by the deactivation, some needed blood transfusions, taking drugs for stroke and heart disease, needing chemotherapy, to blood transfusions for thalassemia. According to him, treatment for them needs to continue, so that there is no fatality.
"We at the Ministry of Health, I think, are the same as Commission IX, our focus, we don't want health services, especially for our people who are at risk, to stop even a day. Even a day," said Budi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 11.
He explained that the patients were inactive in their health insurance membership because there was a change in the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN), where the patients were grouped into higher desils, namely 6-10, which were considered more capable.
Budi said his party had coordinated with the Ministry of Social Affairs to issue a Decree (SK) as well, so that the 120 thousand patients with catastrophic diseases and hospitals were not worried that their treatment would not be paid.
"Well, these 120 thousand catastrophic patients (diseases) have been approved by the government and the DPR will soon be reactivated again through the Social Ministry's SK," he said.
Budi explained that for three months, the PBI JK was reactivated for 120 thousand patients, BPJS Kesehatan, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the local government must improve the data of 11 million PBI JK participants who are inactive.
"Because the total who moved was 11 million. Those who moved from PBI to not PBI. So that these high desil-desil do not go there. Because there are still desil 1 to 5 that have not been able to enter PBI. Well, we will clean it up," he said.
In fact, he said, the PBI JK quota is 96.8 million people. Meanwhile, as many as 1,824 richest people, who are in the 10th district, are registered as PBI JK participants.
"While there is a 3-month period we review it again. So we can appeal to friends who are in PBI but in fact the 10th desil we will explain. 'Come on friends, you can get 42 thousand a month. So that the portion can be filled with people who are really unable," he said.
Regarding reactivation, he said, with a cost of Rp. 42 thousand per person, to pay 120 thousand people, it will take around Rp. 5 billion. For three months, it will take around Rp. 15 billion.
Budi assessed that the amount was not large and the three-month period was not too long, compared to the risk of death faced by patients with catastrophic diseases if they were late in getting treatment for just one week.
