JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that there were around 270 thousand residents of Jakarta who were affected by the deactivation of BPJS Health Membership for Assistance Recipients (PBI). This number refers to the Minister of Social Affairs' Decree regarding the update of the Health Insurance PBI data in Jakarta as of February 1, 2026.

However, Pramono ensured that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government would continue to provide full health services to around 270,000 residents affected by the deactivation of PBI membership.

"If in Jakarta, how many need to be reactivated or have or have not, there are approximately 270,000 participants affected," said Pramono in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 10.

Pramono emphasized that although the reactivation process was still ongoing and waiting for data updates from the central government, the DKI Provincial Government would not allow its citizens to lose access to health services.

He admitted that he had asked the DKI Jakarta Health Service to ensure that the reactivation process was running, while preparing a protection scheme so that the health services of the residents were not interrupted.

"I have conveyed to the Head of the Office and to the health staff in Jakarta, whether this reactivation is going well or not, but the Jakarta Government must still be present," said Pramono.

According to him, the DKI Provincial Government has fiscal space and policies to close the health service gap for residents whose PBI-JK membership has not been reactivated. The scheme used is the segment of participants who are not wage earners and not workers (PBPU-BP) registered by the local government.

"So Jakarta will still cover it, because Jakarta has its own space," he said.

Pramono emphasized that all health services would continue to be provided without reduction, including for severe diseases and high-cost services. Starting from hospitalization, blood transfusions, cataract surgery, to other routine services are still guaranteed by the DKI Provincial Government.

He said the DKI Provincial Government was still waiting for an update of official data from the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture and the Ministry of Social Affairs. However, Pramono ensured that the attitude of the Jakarta Provincial Government was clear, the health services of the people should not be disturbed just because of the administrative problem of membership.

"There is no reduction, including for severe diseases suffered by the community, and also if you have to be hospitalized, blood transfusions, cataract surgery, other routine services, so we will still do it," he said.

"What is clear is that Jakarta in this case continues to provide services that are not reduced for the public that must be reactivated," added Pramono.
