CIAMIS - The Ciamis District Prosecutor's Office has named two suspects for corruption in the procurement of attendance devices or "finger prints" within the Ciamis District Education Office, West Java for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. State losses in this case reached Rp800 million.

He said that the suspect, the former secretary of the Ciamis District Education Office, initially introduced entrepreneurs and offered attendance tools to the Educational UPTD throughout Ciamis.

The suspect offered to install the attendance device at a selling price of Rp. 4 million from the actual price of Rp. 2.5 million, then promised each UPTD to get a bonus from the sale of Rp. 1 million per unit if cash and Rp. 500 thousand if credit.

"The price for the finger print is IDR 4 million, which was previously offered by YSM for IDR 2.5 million," he said.

In addition to raising the selling price, the suspect also violated the use of the 2018 School Operational Cost (BOS) budget.

The purchase of the equipment, said Yuyun, was carried out by first procuring it in each elementary school and junior high school using bailout funds, then replacing it with 2018 BOS funds.

"Procurement first, use the existing money first, while the 2018 budget has just appeared, it has preceded, it's a violation of the law," he continued.

The two suspects were charged with the corruption law, which carries a minimum of four years in prison and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
