JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will search for members of Commission V of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period who are suspected of receiving bribes for the construction of a train line project at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that this search would be carried out after his party named Sudewo, the Regent of Pati who was also a former member of Commission V of the DPR as a suspect in this case.

The determination of the suspect was in conjunction with him being caught in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) related to extortion of filling village apparatus positions in Pati Regency, Central Java. Information will later be dug up by investigators when they examine a number of witnesses based on the facts of the trial that have been revealed.

"Of course we will seek information, investigate information because it is also (open, red) in the trial and others," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, February 9.

It is known that in the trial of the DJKA case in 2025, the name of Lasarus who served as Chairman of Commission V of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia had appeared as a party suspected of receiving money flows. He is said to have asked for a fee of 10 percent of the project.

In addition to Lasarus, there are also 18 names of members of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the period 2019-2024 from various factions who are suspected of enjoying fees. They include Ridwan Bae, Hamka Baco Kady to Sadarestuwati.

"Of course, additional information is needed (to conduct an in-depth investigation, ed). Because to improve the status, there must be sufficient evidence," said Asep, who also serves as the Director of Investigation of the KPK.

Similarly, KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo also once stated that the determination of the suspect Sudewo would be the gateway to pursuing other legislators who also took part in the fee for the DJKA project. "Are there then other roles from other council members in projects in DJKA, are there also other allegations of money flows to other members of the Council in Commission V," Budi told reporters, Friday, January 23.

As previously reported, the KPK had previously examined Sudewo in the DJKA bribery case on September 22, 2025. He was questioned about the arrangement of the auction to the alleged provision of project fees for the construction of a railway line at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

Meanwhile, Sudewo, after being examined by investigators, chose to be stingy. The Gerindra Party politician underwent an examination from 09.45 WIB to 15.03 WIB at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"I was asked for information regarding the train," Sudewo told reporters at the location.

Sudewo also claimed that there was no refund after being examined by the KPK. However, this explanation was delivered incompletely because the aides accompanying him actually hindered the work of reporters at the location.
