Governor Ganjar: COVID-19 Cases Rise, In The Highest Kudus
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo (ANTARA)

SOLO - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo stated that other regions are trying to help Kudus Regency in dealing with COVID-19 cases, whose graph is currently increasing.

"Covid-19 cases have increased, Kudus is the highest, so we provide support, including recently the Semarang City Government," said Ganjar as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 1.

He said some of the assistance provided included medicines and health workers. In addition, his party is also trying to ensure the availability of beds and isolation rooms for these COVID-19 patients.

His party also ensured the readiness of various hospitals belonging to the Central Java Provincial Government to handle the surge in COVID-19 cases, including Dr Moewardi Hospital Surakarta.

"In Solo (Dr Moewardi Hospital) it's okay to come from East Java," he said.

He said that actually the overall readiness of the hospital was in a safe condition, however similar readiness was not safe in several areas, one of which was in Kudus Regency.

"In fact, there are already 100 percent (patient occupancy rate), this is serious. So we provide support," he said.

Meanwhile, when asked about the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the area, Ganjar said it was predictable from the start.

"Every long holiday there is an increase, every Lebaran, long holiday, whatever crowds that have the potential to appear (contagion of COVID-19 cases) then 14 days later it has the potential to rise, that's already predicted," he said.

Ganjar said that what happened a lot was local transmission following the community's indiscipline in implementing health protocols, one of which was social distancing.
