SITUBONDO - The Situbondo Police, East Java, deployed joint personnel to secure and escort the return process of thousands of students from the Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Sukorejo Islamic Boarding School during the 2026 Ramadan holiday, Sunday, February 8.

Kapolres Situbondo AKBP Bayu Anuwar Sidiqie said that the deployment of personnel was carried out as a form of police service to the community, especially in regulating traffic flow and ensuring the safety of students and their guardians who pick them up.

Considering that the number of students reaches thousands, the potential for vehicle density on the main pantura route, especially in the Banyuputih area, is a major concern.

"The presence of the National Police in the field is to ensure that the tradition of the santri's return this year runs orderly, safe, smooth, and without obstacles," said Bayu in Situbondo, quoted from Antara.

Police personnel are spread out at a number of points prone to congestion, parking pockets, to the departure area of the group bus.
