PALEMBANG - The explosion of a 12 kilogram LPG gas cylinder destroyed a resident's house on Jalan Ratu Sianum, Lorong Nepos, East Ilir II District, Palembang City, South Sumatra, Sunday, February 1. The incident killed two people and caused seven others to suffer serious burns.
East Ilir II Police Chief Kompol M. Ismail said the initial suspicion of the explosion was triggered by a gas leak which was then hit by fire during cooking activities.
"Until now, the police are still investigating the statements of a number of witnesses to determine the exact cause of the explosion," he said.
