JAKARTA - The Head of the Ops for the Korlantas Polri Kombes Rudi Antariksa said all vehicles leaving the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas had returned after tightening the Lebaran homecoming.

Antariksa explained that from Jasa Marga's report, 3,488,660 vehicles left Jabodetabek from April 22 to May 23, 2021, both heading to Java and Sumatra. Meanwhile, 3,437,930 vehicles returned to Jabodetabek.

"There is a difference of 56,023 vehicles," said Antariksa during a coordination meeting of the national COVID-19 task force in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Monday, May 31.

He said the rest of the vehicles may have entered Jabodetabek on Saturday, May 29 and Sunday, May 30. This is because there is a traffic density of around 50 thousand vehicles per day from each entrance gate to Jabodetabek. The entrance gate to Jabodetabek is from the west at the Cikupa GT and east at the main Cikampek GT and the main Kahuripan GT.

Antariksa stated that during the policy of eliminating going home from May 6-17 2021, there was no surge in the flow of vehicles to the islands of Java and Sumatra. Overcrowding occurs a few days before May 6, 2021.

Meanwhile, for the reverse flow, the first spike occurred on May 23, 2021, or the day after the tightening ended. There was an increase in the number of vehicles by around 127 thousand. however, the traffic police can still control the situation on the ground.

"Currently this situation is close to normal, the vehicles that have been released, have certainly returned to Jabodetabek," explained Antariksa.

Antariksa stated that for vehicles entering Jabodetabek, especially from Java Island, a health check was carried out for a random rapid antigen test certificate.

"Out of 1.4 million people examined, 341,000 were tested for rapid antigen. It was found that 1,424 people were found to be reactive for COVID-19," explained Antariksa.

He stated that overall the level of community compliance with health protocols and provision of health certificates on the way was good enough.
