Woman Walking Pedestrian Injured After Bag Was Grabbed in Kemayoran

JAKARTA - Street crime has occurred again in the Kemayoran area, Central Jakarta. This time, the incident happened to a female pedestrian who was robbed while crossing Jalan Harapan Mulya 5, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta.

The incident was recorded by a surveillance camera (CCTV) at the scene. Based on the CCTV footage, the crime occurred when the victim was walking.

Then two perpetrators who rode motorbikes followed the victim from behind. It is suspected that the victim had been spied on by the perpetrators first.

When the situation felt quiet from the activities of residents, the perpetrator tried to snatch the victim's bag which was worn on the right shoulder. As a result of the robbery, the victim fell and fell to the asphalt.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator was not able to take the victim's bag because the victim managed to hold it. The perpetrator then fled on the motorcycle he was riding. The Kemayoran Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Iptu Budi Setiadi, confirmed the incident.

"We have checked the crime scene and have visited the victim. Based on the victim's statement, the victim's bag was not successfully taken away by the perpetrator. The bag and its contents are still intact, nothing is missing," said Iptu Budi when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, 01 February 2026.

However, continued the investigator, the victim suffered injuries as a result of the incident.

"The victim suffered cuts on his hands and feet and his head was slightly bruised," he said.

The police officer said that from the victim's statement, the incident occurred when the victim was about to leave for work on foot.

"When the victim crossed the crime scene from the right side, the victim's bag was snatched by the perpetrator using a motorcycle until the victim fell. However, the victim's bag was not successfully taken away by the perpetrator," he said.

Until now, the police are still investigating the incident. The perpetrator is still being pursued.
