JAKARTA - Investigators from the Attorney General's Office for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) are preparing to summon the former Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK), Siti Nurbaya Bakar. This examination is the aftermath of the investigation into the alleged corruption case in the management of plantations and the palm oil industry for the period 2015-2024.

Director of Investigation of the Attorney General's Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, confirmed that the schedule for the examination was being prepared by the investigation team.

"I will schedule it later," said Syarief when giving information at the Kejagung Puspenkum Building, Jakarta, Friday (30/1).

House Search and Seizure of Evidence

This summoning step was taken after investigators conducted a search at Siti Nurbaya Bakar's residence in Jakarta some time ago. In the action, the Kejagung team managed to secure a number of important documents and electronic evidence.

However, Syarief explained that investigators would not be in a hurry. Currently, the main focus of the team is to delve into the material from the results of the search before making a direct clarification to Siti Nurbaya.

"We will examine and study the evidence obtained, then we will conduct an examination (witness)," added Syarief.

Six Locations Searched

In addition to the former LHK Minister's house, the Attorney General's Office has been recorded as having searched a total of six different locations from Wednesday (28/1) to Thursday (29/1). However, the Attorney General's Office has not detailed the other locations that were the target of the search.

Regarding rumors of the involvement of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives in this case, Syarief admitted that he had not received further information. "I haven't monitored it. There are indeed several places (that were searched), but if the identity of the DPR members, I haven't monitored," he concluded.
