DPR asks the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be on alert for the threat of a US-Iran war: Prioritize the safety of Indonesian citizens

Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Oleh Soleh, highlighted the increasing tension between the United States and Iran which was considered potentially triggering a second open war between the two countries. He asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) to be on alert in the face of the threat of a second war between the two countries and prioritize the safety of Indonesian citizens (WNI).

According to Oleh Soleh, this uncertain global geopolitical condition must be taken seriously by the Indonesian government, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu).

"I ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to always be on alert and closely monitor the development of the situation between the United States and Iran. This tension has the potential to increase at any time and could have a wide impact, including on Indonesian citizens in the region," said Oleh Soleh to reporters, Thursday, January 29.

The PKB legislator from the West Java XI District also emphasized the importance of proactive steps to protect Indonesian citizens in Iran. Therefore, Oleh Soleh asked the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Tehran to increase vigilance and preparedness.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Tehran must actively appeal to all Indonesian citizens in Iran to always be vigilant, follow official instructions, and prepare emergency measures in the event of the worst possible scenario, including the outbreak of war between the two countries," he said.

Soleh also emphasized that the safety of Indonesian citizens must be the country's top priority in international conflict situations. He hopes that the Indonesian government can take the right diplomatic steps and ensure that communication channels with Indonesian citizens in Iran remain open and responsive.

"The state must be present and ensure that all Indonesian citizens receive maximum protection in the midst of an increasingly complex global situation," he concluded.
