JAKARTA - The government has prepared a budget for the master plan (renduk) and action plan (renaksi) to accelerate post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in the Sumatra region of Rp. 73.98 trillion. Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo explained that post-disaster handling includes the village building sector, water resources, creative works, and other strategic infrastructure, to ensure that recovery is sustainable and of high quality.
"This rehabilitation and reconstruction budget is not only aimed at restoring the conditions of people affected by disasters, but also improving the quality of infrastructure and the sustainability of public services in the long term," said Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo during a working meeting with Commission V of the DPR RI, in Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 27.
Dody revealed that out of the total budget requirement of Rp. 73.98 trillion, around Rp. 4.8 trillion was allocated for the emergency response phase, while around Rp. 69 trillion was allocated for the rehabilitation and reconstruction phases.
The mechanism for implementation, financing, and collaboration schemes between the central government and local governments refer to Presidential Decree Number 1 of 2026 concerning the Implementation of the Build Back Better Master Plan.
In the 2025 fiscal year, the Ministry of Public Works has realized Rp. 576 billion for emergency response and recovery of basic infrastructure functions in affected areas, including Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
For the 2026 fiscal year, the government needs Rp. 4.27 trillion for emergency response budgets, and Rp. 24.55 trillion for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of water resources infrastructure, roads and bridges, settlements, and other basic infrastructure.
This rehabilitation and reconstruction program is planned to continue until 2028. The projected budget needs amount to IDR 28.37 trillion in 2027 and around IDR 16.22 trillion in 2028.
