JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asked the former Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer to focus more on the substance of the case of extortion of safety and security certification (K3) which is being tried in the Jakarta Corruption Court.
This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when asked about a number of statements made by Immanuel Ebenezer outside the ongoing trial process. Among them is when he reminded the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudi Sadewa who was targeted until there was involvement of the party with the initials 'K' in the case that entangled him.
"We appeal, yes, to the defendant to focus more on following the trial," Budi told reporters, Tuesday, January 27.
Budi emphasized that Immanuel Ebenezer should convey the information he knew in the trial. "So that it can help this trial process run effectively," he said.
"And if you do have other information that is suspected to be related to the alleged corruption in the Ministry of Manpower, please submit it in front of the panel of judges so that it can also become a fact of the trial," continued Budi.
According to Budi, if Immanuel Ebenezer gives his statement before the judge, then the prosecutor can analyze it and follow up.
Moreover, the current community is smart to see the facts of the trial. So, the narrative that is built outside the substance will be counterproductive.
Because, the alleged extortion that is currently being tried has gone through the process after the implementation of the hand-in-hand operation (OTT).
"In this case, we ensure that from the case that started with the hand-in-hand event, the KPK arrested the suspected perpetrators of corruption crimes along with the evidence," explained Budi.
"This means that everything is firm, both in terms of formal and material aspects, including the evidence which we have then shown to the public as part of transparency, including the construction of the case, namely the alleged act of extortion related to the management of K3 certification in the environment of the Ministry of Manpower."
Immanuel Ebenezer previously talked about many things outside the substance of the trial. He said there was involvement of a political party with the initials 'K' in the case of extortion of K3 certificate management.
In addition, he also claimed the involvement of non-religious organizations in this case. But, just like his statement about the 'k' party, he did not want to elaborate further.
Then, Immanuel Ebenezer also talked about Purbaya who would experience a similar fate because he was framed as he claimed. Because, the Minister of Finance Purbaya disrupted the bandit pestapora.
"Be careful, Mr. Purbaya, it's one inch away. I got information that A1, Mr. Purbaya will be Noel-ed. Be careful, Mr. Purbaya," he said.
Immanuel Ebenezer's statement was then responded to casually by Purbaya. "Oh, just let it be, the important thing is that I don't accept money. Noel (money), I don't accept money, my salary is big here (the Minister of Finance), enough. Cases like that in me are probably very unlikely to happen, unless I start to accept money," he told reporters, Monday, January 26.
"I don't think there is any business, I am only responsible to the President, I don't care about others," concluded Purbaya.
